Lewes Oyster House Gets Their Famous Salt From One Delaware Man
Executive Chef Sean Corea finishes his seafood dishes, chicken and beach fries with this very special salt. The Henlopen Sea Salt comes right from a local resident’s backyard. Sean and a lot of other chefs use the Henlopen sea salt on their menu. The salt comes from where the bay and the ocean meet, which gives the salt a particular taste and texture. Dave Burris, the maker of Henlopen sea salt, started making the salt at his family beach house about 10 years ago. In the first couple small batches he really had to hone in on the flavor.
